Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet
119 Krafty Kuts + Chali 2NA from Jurassic 5 live in Bondi

3pm Friday, my friend AJ from Central Station Records drops me a line…

“We have Krafty Kuts & Chali 2na (of Jurassic 5) doing their “It Ain’t My Fault” single launch at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi this Wednesday 1st of March…” can we hook up an interview on Bondi Beach Radio?

Yes, yes and yes…

So AJ sends me through a couple of pressers (press releases) and a copy of the brand new single “It Ain’t My Fault” and then come Monday morning, I find myself in the boardroom at Central Station Records in Sydney for a 2:1 chat with Kraft Kuts and Chali 2na. Awesome!

Our vast ranging chats cover Krafty Kuts' earliest ever memory from his childhood of the family cat in Kingston upon Thames in the UK and Chali’s memories of his 2nd birthday in the projects of south-side Chicago, the pleasures of working with Dynamite MC and Chali 2na to bring this jam to life, our shared experiences of the inspiration of hip hop street art in Miami, Rome, Montpellier, Belgium and their 2 pieces of advice that Krafty Kuts and Chali 2na give to someone who has a dream, but is afraid to take that first step.

As Krafty tells it, studying your art and creating magic is all about practicing your art form to hone yourself into the best at what you do and I felt that myself even during this interview, as while I usually capture what I need in hour long shows that I’ve been recording for 2.5 years, we made this shit work in 25 minutes.

I’ll be heading down to their show Beach Road Bondi this Wednesday night 1st of March for sure!

Stoked to be able to launch “It Ain’t My Fault” by Krafty Kuts & Dynamite MC featuring Chali 2na of Jurassic 5 on my show on Bondi Beach Radio at 9am AEST this morning (USA 2pm PT and 5pm ET) and now you can also download the interview right here, right now on iTunes.

These two gentleman are consummate professionals, super enigmatic and downright lovely… And maaaaaaannnn… this jam is GOLD!

How good are you are marketing your own personal brand?

I don’t just mean posting photos on Instagram, writing LinkedIn articles and sending out the occasional Tweet. I mean, how are you collaborating with peers and friends in your existing and prospective networks to broaden the audience of your business, brand, blog, vlog or podcast?

One of my key goals for 2017, is to increase my volume of guest appearances on other content creators radio shows, podcasts, blogs and blogs.

I created the Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet! radio show and podcast two years ago and while my extensive knowledge of digital brand marketing as a global award-winning senior social media strategist, working with a range of different brands and industries, holds me in good stead for marketing my own brand and making the strategic decision when I first started, to have the guests on Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet! who are inspiring individuals and entrepreneurs across a range of industries, certainly means that the cross-section of my audiences is vast and diverse, one area that I haven’t been as great at is tapping into the network of those friends and like-minded people who have their own radio shows, podcasts, blogs, blogs and audiences of their own. It’s just another way to grow my audience and help them build theirs too!

Enter The Ladies Lounge podcast. Launched in mid-2016 and created by Sydney-based businesswomen, Anna Massie and Emma Franklin Bell, The Ladies Lounge is a show that has exploded in the past 6 months and is focused on getting up close & personal, sharing the candid stories and adventures of successful female (and male now too) entrepreneurs.

I met The Ladies Lounge crew as Anna is an amazing networker and quite literally cyber-stalked a bunch of podcast hosts, including yours truly, to see how The Ladies Lounge could grow their own podcast audience by guesting on the shows of others.

In this week’s episode of Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet, Anna Massie shares the challenges of founding and ultimately shutting down her first enterprise, The Corporate Kid, The Ladies Lounge foray into podcasting, how and why they launched the show, the power of having multiple revenue streams when you start a new business and how swallowing her pride and owning her Uber driver business which has lead to new biz opportunities, a fresh perspective on dating and a new book!

Super chats and I can’t wait for you to hear her story. I like your style, Anna Massie!

117 Bec Scott (co-founder & CEO of STREAT)
Exciting Bondi Beach Radio show for Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet! this week as we catch-up with Bec Scott, co-founder & CEO of STREAT, a social enterprise set-up to stop youth homelessness.

With what started as an idea on the streets of Vietnam, STREAT has rapidly evolved from their very 1st food cart in Melbourne’s iconic tourist destination Federation Square in 2010 to multiple STREAT cafes/venues around Melbourne, a Friends of STREAT cookbook and designer coffee all available for purchase online with funds going back to training and providing jobs for our homeless youth.

It's wonderful to be able to share the STREAT story with my Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet and Bondi Beach Radio audience!

To experience the outlook of a human like Bec Scott who's not only making a selfless, positive impact on the world around her, but a self-sustaining and ever-growing one.

I only hope this show can inspire you to do the same! Let’s get into it!

116 TwoSpace co-founder & social entrepreneur Tashi Dorjee
Excited to catch-up with Two Space co-founder and social entrepreneur, Tashi Dorjee!

Indirectly, my connection with Tashi is actually the reason Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet! is now a weekly show on Bondi Beach Radio.

Tashi and I met at the Two Space co-working space for start-ups and entrepreneurs at the Kings Cross Hotel a few weeks back and I just had to get him on the show to tell his story.

Partnering with Optus and Amazon, TwoSpace connects underutilised spaces with a community of entrepreneurs, creating unique spaces that help businesses start, connect and grow.

We also chat about his work with Carbon Conservation, a business dedicated to conserving the rainforests of Indonesia and current protects 1 million hectares of rainforest and the introduction of Himalayan Chai into the Australian market back in the day by his grandmother, which went on to be adopted by Gloria Jeans and more.

Vast-ranging and fascinating chats and I just love meeting new people whom I feel like I’ve known for years. Tashi is a good one and Two Space is coming to Bondi Beach, so download this show to find out more!

Let’s get into it!

115 Mikey Robins (Australian comedian, media personality & writer).
This week’s guest on Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet! is a wonderful exploration of the life of Australian comedian, media personality and writer, Mikey Robins.

The former triple j national radio breakfast host and Good News Week TV show team leader shares intimate memories of his early days as a creative and performer, about landing the triple j gig at age 29 and what it’s like to start a stand-up comedy career later in life.

From there we journey into his life and long-term relationship with his best friend and wife, Laura, Australia Day and #changethedate, choosing radio partners and advice for those who might have a dream and have no idea where to begin.

What started as a chance meeting between Mikey and I at the Bucketlist Bondi, turned into this hilarious and insightful show with one of the funniest guys I know. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do! 😃❤️
